RPS works one on one with each client to help them achieve their unique financial goals. The process typically entails assisting clients in data and information collection, followed by an initial consultation, research and analysis of data for each client, and preparation of a formal written plan with specific recommendations for current and future investment needs.

Initial Consultation
During this introductory meeting we will review the planning steps, answer your questions, and determine which level of service best meets your needs.

RPS' fees are based on how much time we devote to the research and analysis of the client's financial portfolio and to develop a comprehensive plan to meet their planning objectives. Our fees
begin at $1650 and increase according to complexity of the client's financial status and goals.
All plans include a 1-year retainer for further investment/advice and counsel.

RPS will provide an estimate of the appropriate fee during the initial consultation. We’ll also review briefly the forms and documentation needed (described below) to begin planning.

Please contact RPS at 703-716-1233 to get started. We will gladly send you a complete set of forms and information about our services.

List of Required Personal Financial Information. Our list will help you gather the records and data needed to begin the planning process.

NAPFA Brochure. This brochure presents the philosophy and code of ethics promoted by the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, of which RPS is a member.

Research, Analysis, and Plan Development
Once RPS receives all of the necessary materials, we will begin the research and analysis step, which typically is completed within 45 days. (If additional time is required—no more than 30 days—we will notify the client in advance.)

This step culminates in a formal written plan that includes a summary of your financial planning goals and our findings; specific planning recommendations; and a list of recommended investment products, services, and/or strategies that we believe will best assist you in attaining your goals and objectives.
Each plan contains:

  • Financial Goals - provides guidance and direction to help the client achieve his or her financial goals.

  • Asset Allocation Analysis - shows the results of a recommended investment portfolio (stocks, bonds and cash) and:

  • - Optimizes the overall rate of return according to the client’s comfort level with risk
    - Reduces the overall volatility of the portfolio
    - Projects the worst 1-year loss scenario

  • Lifetime Income Projection - predicts for a lifetime period (for example, 25 years), how much retirement income the recommended portfolio will generate. The projection employs Monte Carlo technology, a technique that examines thousands of potential scenarios over the lifetime period to determine if the client’s financial plan will meet his or her goals.
  • RPS will present our formal written plan to you and review our recommendations. Clients are responsible for implementing our recommendations, with RPS’ assistance.

    Retainer Program
Many clients choose to maintain or adjust their financial plans by renewing their retainer with RPS after the initial one-year period. We offer renewal plans that include your choice of once or twice yearly review of your financial portfolio. All of our retainer clients will receive the RPS newsletter along with exclusive access to a wealth of timely financial information.

    Hourly Consultation
Our fee for individual consultation is $200.00 per hour, with a minimum fee of $200.00 per consultation. In addition to consultation time, hourly charges include all research and preparation time.
